Seed Packaging
“Small seed. Big potential. Your chilli journey starts here, with every packet offering the promise of colour, flavour, and the simple joy of growing something extraordinary.”
At Saffron Chillies, every seed begins its journey long before it reaches your hands. We treat seed packing as an extension of our growing philosophy, thoughtful, careful, and rooted in pride for what we do. Each batch is hand‑selected from healthy, vibrant plants, then dried and cleaned with patience to ensure only the strongest seeds make it into our packets.

Seed Packet Packaging
Once prepared, the seeds are counted and packed in small batches (approximately 10 - 15 seeds per packet) to maintain freshness and traceability. Every packet is sealed with care, labelled clearly, and checked by hand so you know exactly what you’re growing and how to get the best from it. We keep our packaging simple, and informative, designed to guide beginners while still offering the detail experienced growers appreciate.
Our seeds are packed in a clear zip‑lock bag to lock in freshness, and while we recognise plastic isn’t the planet’s best friend, we encourage you to dispose of it responsibly or, even better, reuse it to store seeds from your next chilli harvest.
From the moment a seed is harvested to the moment you open your packet, we focus on quality, consistency, and the joy of growing. It’s our way of making sure that every grower, whether you’re nurturing your first chilli plant or adding to a thriving collection, starts with seeds full of potential and a story worth growing.

Seed Batches
To maintain full traceability, every batch of our chilli seeds is logged and labelled so we can always trace them back to their exact source. This level of transparency matters to us — it ensures we keep a clear audit of where each seed originated and how it was handled. Our batching format is simple and reliable: the first three letters represent the variety’s short code, followed by the year, the month, and finally the batch/pick number.
For example, on our Twilight chilli seed packets, the seeds harvested August 2025 from our first batch, the batch number TWG258-1 should be present on our packaging. This tells us the variety, the year, when it was processed, and exactly which batch it came from.
