The compact Cha Cha is a beautifully balanced chilli variety that brings gentle heat and a touch of sweetness to your garden and kitchen. With its glossy, elongated pods that ripen from green to orange, the Cha Cha is as attractive as it is delicious. This medium‑hot chilli delivers a smooth, flavourful kick that enhances dishes without overpowering them, making it a favourite for everyday cooking.
Reaching around 5,000–15,000 Scoville Heat Units, Cha Cha sits comfortably in the mid‑heat range. Its flavour is clean, slightly sweet, and wonderfully versatile. It’s perfect for stir‑fries, sauces, salsas, pickling, and fresh use, offering a reliable burst of warmth that suits a wide range of recipes.
Cha Cha is also a pleasure to grow. Start seeds from February to April and keep them warm during germination. Once established, the plants grow into tidy, compact, productive bushes around 20–30 cm tall, producing a generous crop of slender, vibrant pods throughout the summer. They thrive in small containers, greenhouses, or sunny patios, and a final pot size of 1–3 litres is ideal for strong growth and consistent yields.
Whether you’re new to chillies or looking for a dependable, flavour‑forward variety to add to your collection, Cha Cha is a fantastic choice for those small spaces. It’s productive, easy to grow, and packed with character, a chilli that brings both colour and culinary creativity to your growing season.
Cha Cha (Chilli Seeds)
Sow between February and April. We recommend using a 50/50 combination of "Westland John Innes Seed Sowing Compost" and "Gro-Sure Vermiculite". Keeping the mixture light, loose, moist and a consistent temperature. The optimal temperature for germinating chili seeds is generally between 23°C and 30°C (73°F to 86°F).
